چکیده
A microscopic study was made of the lungs of 18 patients with congenital malformations of the heart in which there was obstruction of pulmonary venous drainage. Alterations in various components of the pulmonary vascular bed and of the lung parenchyma were described and correlated with the clinical course and the type of malformation present. A quantitative evaluation of the pulmonary arterial thickening was made by determining the lumen:wall ratio of small vessels. The anatomic alterations found in these children were compared to those of adults with acquired mitral stenosis.

Cor Triatriatum Sinistrum Presenting as Cyanotic Congenital Heart Disease A Rare Case Report
Cor triatriatum is an acyanotic congenital heart disease. We present a rare case of cor triatriatum sinistrum in a 6-month-old female infant who was presented with cyanosis and failure to thrive. The 2D transthoracic echocardiography and the Doppler color flow imaging showed a proximal venous chamber communicating to the distal left atrium through restrictive opening to the low-pressure, dis...

Çor triatriatum is a cardiac anomaly that is due to failure of resorption of the common pulmonary vein results in a left atrium divided by an abnormal fibromascular diaphragm into posterosuperior and the anteroinferior chambers. The communication between the divided atrial chambers may be large, small or absent, depending on the size of the opening (s) in the diaphragm, which determines the d...

Holt-Oram syndrome is an autosomal dominant disorder, characterised by skeletal abnormalities of the upper limb associated with congenital heart defect, mainly atrial and ventricular septal defects. Skeletal defects exclusively affect the upper limbs in the preaxial radial ray distribution and are bilateral and asymmetrical. They range from clinodactyly, absent or digitalised thumb, hypoplastic...
متن کاملRight ventricular Hemodynamic Alteration after Pulmonary Valve Replacement in Children with Congenital Heart Disease
Introduction: In patients who underwent surgery to repair Tetralogy of Fallot, right ventricular dilation from pulmonary regurgitation may be result in right ventricular failure, arrhythmias and cardiac arrest. Hence, pulmonary valve replacement may be necessary to reduce right ventricular volume overload. The aim of present study was to assess the effects of pulmonary valve replacement on rig...
متن کاملEvaluation of Guidelines and Risk Factors for Venous Thrombosis and Pulmonary Embolism in Hospitalized Children: A Cross-Sectional Study
Background: Thromboembolism (TE) in pediatric population is rare but may be a fatal situation. There is a lack of clinical guidelines to help decision making for the use of prophylactic measures in pediatrics. This study was designed to evaluate current guidelines and risk factors for the prevention of venous thrombosis and pulmonary embolism (DVT/PE) in children. Materials and Methods: Th...
